Hi Reprappers,

I'm building a lasercutter based off the Buildlog.net 2.x Laser and am using a Mega 2560, RAMPS 1.4 with three A4988 drivers to power three NEMA 17 stepper motors. The circuit was working well but then I left the project sitting for a few years. Now I'm trying to restart and get everything working again, but it's very frustrating because two of my motors are only buzzing when I connect everything.

What I know is that, by swapping cables, the three motors are working.
I recently got new drivers and when I check the Vref all three are nicely aligned to measure +- 1.1 V
The RAMPS 1.4 board is brand new (since I thought this was the problem)

Yet still my X & Y motors are only buzzing/vibrating when I send commands to move them. I feel that the only thing left for me to check/swap is the Mega 2560? Since the motors are working, driver is working, cable connections are fine and the RAMPS 1.4 is brand new.

I'm really frustrated because everytime I think I've found the solution I swap the suspected part and yet still it doesn't work. Up to now I've swapped the X & Y drivers and the RAMPS board.

Any thoughts/ideas? Faulty Mega 2560? (serial USB connection seems to work flawlessly)
