i have a prusa mendel fully built as well, and am in the process of getting the software all running properly. i've had the machine for a long time without it working, and am taking another stab at it and making some solid headway. it's not quite there, and i'm on here looking for help too, but i'd be happy to give whatever help i can so at least maybe you can get to the same page i am if you're getting stuck on something i know how to solve. shoot me an email, it's my username at gmail dot com.
