First 3d printer help with motors

We picked up a printer from Rerap guru. Had it all set up and started setting the end stops. That is when the power supply cord started melting and shorted out the power strip. They replaced the power supply and we are trying to test it our again. We are controlling through a PC. When we try to move the motors, they all move in one direction. We can switch the connector on the board and get them to move in the opposite direction but still will not go back the other way. This is occurring on all of the axis motors. Could the power supply going out damaged part of the board?

The printer when turned on thinks it at 0 on each axis.
You then home so it really knows where the 0 is

to cheat use m92 and tell the printer is really mid position, then it will be able to move in the other direction

This presumes your endstops are working... if you do a m119
If any of the endstop report being triggered, it wont move in that direction
