Random readings using a thermocouple and max6675 with marlin firmware

Hi

I have read on this thread there can be issues with eddie currents being introduced by motor and heater cables.

I wanted to upgrade my thermistor setup to use a thermocouple since it's more robust (dont ask!) and if i decide to print with more exotic materials I need higher temps than the thermistor can support anyways.

On my heater block there is a small around 5mm circular hole where the thermistor used to be so I just stuck it in there then tightened the grub screw onto it. But I'm getting funny readings which I belive are the cause of thermal runaway errors when I start a print.

When that happens I restart the printer, it says on the lcd it's way over 200degrees when I only set it to 190.

So am guessing I installed it wrong, how am I supposed to do it?
If my heatblock isn't suitable, what do you recommend

My printer is a Hictop branded cheapie based at infamous shenzhen.

if you are using high temp thermocouple check out settings for a dyzend extruder on their website settings in marlin for 500c thermocouple
