Are there any components that most people end up swapping out? Hate to spend time later replacing stuff when I can do it on day one....

Thanks, Les

It all depends on what you are getting, a picture of the whole printer will help to pinpoint crappie parts.

But to be honest you will be redoing parts anyway as you learn and figure out the weakest points in your printer, back in October I bought a cheap sunhokey printer for my kids and as of now, the only original parts are the rods, motors and electronics the rest has been replaced.

Different kits, have different needs.

What is the make (Geeetch, FolgerTech, Sunkey, Hotchiss, and many others)?

The overall design of the Prusa i3 is sound, imo.

That being said, you may wish to get an extra ramps coming in on the slow boat from China. And you might decide to replace your polyfuses with car fuses on the ramps. That is common problem among all ramps based printers.

EDIT: Actually, you will want to print an adjustable Z axis endstop first thing, imo. Totally forgot what a PITA anything without one is. [www.thingiverse.com]
