When i select home the extruder goes to the home position, the hotbed goes to the home position but the motor does not stop the end stop is working and all the connections seem fine i am totally new to this after building the printer from the box i am now wondering what i have done wrong, any help would be great fully received.

If it's hitting the endstop and the motors don't stop then the endstop isn't working.

You need to connect up a computer running pronterface or repitier and send the printer M119 command(s) to test the endstops
An M119 will show if the switches are triggered when pressed

Thanks for that i am running repitier, I did test the end stop with a voltmeter and it did indicate the end stop turned of when depressed but i will do a M119 command and get back to you.
