Hi ,

Can anyone point me in a direction for auto bed levelling for the replikeo?

Thanks

Bert

Never worked with a 3D printer before, but I've seen that this design is popular: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:182889

And a video for installation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awsI9bMndJA

I might try it sometime, so I think it is a good idea.

These links are for Prusa i3, but we have Prusa i3 rework with different extruder. Right auto bed leveling mount is this [www.thingiverse.com] or similar. I am using this design without problems.

Hi smiling smiley

Is it OK ? That J-Head Hotend can move a little bit when i fit it in Wade extruder body.

I had the same 'problem'. I just used some kapton tape on the hotend (upper part) until it didn't move anymore.

Wow Thank you very much I don't think about that. smiling smiley

Hi guys,

I just started working on a Replikeo kit and I'm only to the x-axis assembly and I've already run into some trouble. I'm trying to mount an endstop to an x end idler and the screw head or nut won't fit without blocking the wiring for it. I read in another guide if you have a sainsmart end stop (my endstop looks similar) that you need to use a flat head screw, but I don't think there is even room for that.

I put up a video on youtube for a bit more detail. Sorry it's really late and I'm pretty tired
[www.youtube.com]

I'm going to stop by a hardware store tomorrow and try to get a flat head screw and see if that works. I hope I'm just overlooking something - any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex

Just bend the header socket. Best done with wire inserted.

Thank you! I'll try that later

Hi smiling smiley

I have a problem about endstop.
I homing y axis by Printrun heated bed move to endstop but it doesn't stop !!! sad smiley
I check that endstop by using volt meter. but it's OK (sending signal correctly)

What's the problem ?

ps. x axis endstop work fine
z axis endstop I didn't check yet. I worried that if it didn't work hotend would hit heatd bed.

Just got a text from DHL. My kit shall arrive tomorrow! Just in time for the weekend. I'll probably post my thoughts during the build, possible some video logs. I'm excited! Hopefully nothing was damaged in shipping...

My kit arrived just a couple days ago, as you can see above. I'm through the first big step (here), and I haven't run into any issues yet. When I opened the box, I went through all of the parts to make sure they were there from the BOM before I built the kit. I thought I was missing the Fan Duct part until I realized that it was the part wrapped up in protective foam. In case you run into that, now you know smiling smiley

I would really love to hear about how your build goes or see some pictures- because we are assembling the kits at about the same time, we can try to help each other out. Does that work for you?

I started a Flickr album for my project here, and I am also putting out info on my blog about the project as well.

So here is where I am at:

More info coming soon smiling smiley

Is it defind in Marlin as a MIN or MAX endstop?
Is it on the correct pins on the RAMPS?

I find my problem now.
I set my configuration same as Replikeo website but I connect y axis endstop pin to y min (setting is for y max)

Hey Guys,

New to the site, I purchased the replikeo iron like many of you, a few weeks ago. I got it put together in a few days thanks to all your posts.

However when it comes to Arduino I'm not the greatest (by that i mean I've never used it until now).

i have spent the last couple weeks trying to get my printer to home without breaking.

it moves in all the axis and i have managed to figure out most of the settings in the firmware. ( I started with the marlin firmware from the link off of replikeo's website, couldn't get the printer to move. so I used someone's firmware file off this forum and got it moving

Basically the problem i am having now is that when i home the Z axis it just continues going up, even after it hits the smooth rod supports at the top, and it actually broke one and i had to super glue it back together.

then after it stops i cant go back down I either have to turn the motors off and manually turn the threaded rods to move it down, or switch the Z direction and move it down by clicking the the Z up direction in pronterface.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

oh and only my X endstop works my other endstops don't stop anything. when their hit they light up (like the X does) but the printer doesn't stop.

If it's a i3 the z-stop should be at the bottom and when you home the z-axis it should go down not up

Ok thanks, I can invert the home direction but now the problem is the only end stop that stops the printer is X
The other 2 hit the end stops and continue to try to move both are wired exactly like the X and light up when they are activated but simply just don't stop. Pronterface doesnt even recognize that the Z and Y axis are activated.

Hey guys, I've run into some more trouble. I was just getting to the electronics and wiring stage and I realized that my x axis shouldn't be resting at the bottom. I'm probably overlooking something, but I think that the holes that the threaded rods that go through on the x end idler and x end motor might be too loose. Can you recommend a solution?

Thanks,
Alex

there should be 2 nuts threaded on to the rods that rest on the underneath sides of the X axis.. I couldn't tell from the video when you lifted it if they are there or not

Been a while..been printingO:-)
I got kissslicer dialed in today. No more silc3r for me! Jobs print faster, and it slices way faster than slic3r. I tried a Julia vase with slic3r, 3 hours later still processing. Kissslicer took 10 minutes. It does take some set up to get working correctly.

Hey all,

Haven't made any progress at all. In fact, I feel like I've gone backwards. First I relocated the motor that's in the front of the y-carriage in the build instructions to the back right (when looking from the front). That moved just fine, but then I had hard time getting everything 245mm from frame to front again. So then I decided to redo my Z endstop because it was only attached by a zip tie and wasn't sitting tightly. In screwing it into the z holder, I think I broke one of the end stops. Not having a good day. Anyone know where I can buy new endstops? I may just replace all 3 with ones better than the sainsmart ones that came with the kit. This is putting my build on hold yet again, though sad smiley

Oh, and my y-belt holder keeps hitting into the motor. It's kind of hard to see in the picture

This is because you are trying it without HB. Install HB and it will fix your problem

From video - you forgot install M5 nuts (that are screwed on rods) in X motor end and X idler

From the picture it looks like you will have to move the motor over some more to line the belt up..
