Nice!

Those parts do look good. The build is a lot of work but a lot of fun smiling smiley

I also just got another build log, going over the y-axis steps, up on my blog. I'm trying to add more pictures for people, so if you get stuck, maybe my posts can help out with the images.

Out of curiosity, which lubricant did you end up going for, Zippit?

I'm trying to print a "Hello Wolrd!", but when I try to connect on pronterface, it say "connecting...", and nothing happens.

I'm following this tutorial [www.youtube.com]

Arduino has been installed

What I do?

I have my printer all build but I couldn't mount the arduino because I think I have the frame backwards. And my motor for the y is in the back.

I'll check it out tonight and start configuring the printer!

Are you using configuration.h from replikeo? If yes, there is define BAUDRATE 115200

Oops, I think I did jump this step... smiling smiley Where set I this 'configuratioin.h'? Is it on pronterface? Do you have a link with instructions?

It is in merlin FW. Open it in adruino IDK and there you will see configuration.h tab. there search for serial rate.

I'm currently calibrating my extruder.

I've told it to print out 100mm but it actually printer 185mm

How do I correct for such a big difference?

I can't to print, I got this error, but the HBP (heated bed) is cold (~29ºC)...

On Merlin, I've set like replikeo configuration
#define TEMP_SENSOR_0 1
#define TEMP_SENSOR_1 0
#define TEMP_SENSOR_2 0
#define TEMP_SENSOR_BED 1

My circuit...

If I to setup so...
#define TEMP_SENSOR_0 1
#define TEMP_SENSOR_1 1
#define TEMP_SENSOR_2 0
#define TEMP_SENSOR_BED 0

The issue above was fixed, now I can to connect the printer on Pronterface, I can to move X,Y and Z motors on Pronterface, I can warm up the hotend...

But I can't warm up the HBP, in the Pronterface shows 0ºC. And if I click on "Print" nothing happens confused smiley

Hello,

I have put the kit together and double checked the wiring but run into problems with the sw.
I downloaded ardino and marlin and prontoface and they are now installed on my pc.
There is a red light blinking on the ardino board.When I try to upload ardino firmware it goes through the motions but end up unsuccessful.
I am not a programmer so any help for dummies appreciated.

Hello,
Correction to my last mail.There is a steady red light on the ardino 2560 board and a blinking red light on the ramps 1.4 board when either power is applied or my pc is active.

This report would have more information with

enabled in File > Preferences.

I had similar problem, if you replaced the Merlin original "Configuration.h" by replikeo "Configuration.h"... Try to change only the needed params.

#define BAUDRATE 115200
#define MOTHERBOARD 33
#define EXTRUDERS 1
#define POWER_SUPPLY 1

#define TEMP_SENSOR_0 1
#define TEMP_SENSOR_1 0
#define TEMP_SENSOR_2 0
#define TEMP_SENSOR_BED 1

#define INVERT_X_DIR false // for Mendel set to false, for Orca set to true
#define INVERT_Y_DIR true // for Mendel set to true, for Orca set to false
#define INVERT_Z_DIR true // for Mendel set to false, for Orca set to true
#define INVERT_E0_DIR false // for direct drive extruder v9 set to true, for geared extruder set to false
#define INVERT_E1_DIR false // for direct drive extruder v9 set to true, for geared extruder set to false
#define INVERT_E2_DIR false // for direct drive extruder v9 set to true, for geared extruder set to false

// ENDSTOP SETTINGS:
// Sets direction of endstops when homing; 1=MAX, -1=MIN
#define X_HOME_DIR -1
#define Y_HOME_DIR 1
#define Z_HOME_DIR -1

// prusa i3 settings
#define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT   {80,80,4000,600}  // default steps per unit for prusa i3 rework
#define DEFAULT_MAX_FEEDRATE          {500, 500, 2, 25}    // (mm/sec)
#define DEFAULT_MAX_ACCELERATION {2000,2000,20,1000} // X, Y, Z, E maximum start speed for accelerated moves. E default values are good for skeinforge 40+, for older versions raise them a lot.

Replikeo "Configuration.h" is outdated than last version of the Merlin FW, some params has been added.

Hello,

I have now got it working, including bed levelling, except for the extruder motor that avoids
controlling via the repetier host.Could anybody help?
Thank you.

Can someone point me in the right direction to calibrate the center of the bed?

When I print things they are not centered so I can't make full use of my print bed.

About my issue of bed thermistor, I tried all in configuration and nothing, I bought another thermistor and it did work. It really was thermistor damaged. drinking smiley

Can someone recommend me a better hotend? I'm having so many issues with this one such as I spend about 15 minutes trying to get new filament inside the hole, and it clogs and backs out frequently, doesn't feed correct length no matter how many extrusion steps I take, and so on. No a single print is the same... I tried a lot of things for the many months that I had this printer, that I'm now convinced it's the HE that's the problem...

Hi Bratan,

Been away from this thread for a while, but I've been reading all of the posts. After reading yours, I thought I'd share a few tips about the hotend that I found out that might be helpful for you:

  • When I withdraw filament, I just loosen the screws holding the filament against the drive gear, with the extruder up to temperature. Then I pull it out. At the end, the tip of the filament is pointed.
  • My filament hole in the extruder and in the hotend don't line up. I find the easiest way to reinsert filament is to keep the pointed end from the step before (I used to trim it off). Now when I insert filament it just guides itself in.
  • Make sure that you have a fan for PLA. I tried printing PLA without a fan and it was very tough to get things to work out.
  • I have been running my printer for 3 months with spacers instead of springs on the tensioning screws that press the filament against the drive gear (picture later tonight). It has worked very well and very accurately.
  • If the print comes out wobbly, try replacing the screws that hold the hotend in place with slightly larger screws (only if the hotend wobbles when you pull on it). Worked wonders for me.
