how to modify Itopie s frame ?

So hello, as a poor buyer I would like the best for my money
In this [docs.google.com] BOM from Iv-esad
The costs are 326€◙ with included 160€ for the frame
I dont know how hard it is to build the frame but it is the only thing I can think about to reduce the costs as it is 50% of total price and mdf is relatively cheap.

I could just send Dxf files to online/ornot laser cutting shops to get quotes but my goal is to have it ready for upgrading to 40*20*20 building area
As it is wood, I can't just buy bigger m10 threaded rods as with a "classic" i3
so In order to go for a Itopie, I need to learn about modifying the frame.

Maybe some future beginners will enjoy to have some more infos about this.

Installed OpenScad
Followed starting instructions from here [reprap.org] (maybe an english version is available?)

But I would like to straight ask a question before I go further into the software.

If I want to use 12mm MDF, Do I need to rethink the whole build ?
I mean adding 4mm there, there, there.. where I dont know yet. ?
Or is there some automatisations/tricks in this software ?

My goal is to find the cheaper laser cutter, online preferably.

Actually i found interresting societies offering respectively 9mm and 20mm

Ok après une bonne nuit de sommeil j'ai compris que ce n'était pas très compliqué.
C'est bien du script et ca me semble être une software très agréable.

Voici donc une vrai bonne question

Pour augmenter la longeur de la zone d'impression, dois-je étendre la zone équitablement derrière et devant l'extruder ou bien est-ce qu'un seul côté suffit ? A/B

Simply by editing the config.scad file at line 55 :

horizontal_plate_width         = 390;              // 
horizontal_plate_height        = 440;              //

The proportion will be automatically good.
