Building printer from scratch - i3 Berlin/Rework/?

Hi good people of internet,
after a tons of research i've decided to build my own 3D printer. Since I have access to water jet, a laser cutter and CNC, a good stiff frame should not be a problem. I would like to build a printer with quality parts and learn something, so that's why I'm not interested in cheap China kits, but to spend a 1000-1500€ is a little too much for me right now.
I was looking into a i3 Berlin. Really like the design, dual extruder... But, BOM is incomplete, not all printable parts are in there, some parts are undefined... Is it worth or should I make a Prusa i3 Rework? If somebody built a Berlin from zero, not from a kit, please let's get in touch.

Or maybe any idea about a closed case model? (benefits of heating, noise reduction etc.)

What do you suggest for electronics? Rumba, ramps, melzi?

Thank you.

Closed chamber won't affect much on your prints though (correct me on this one) but will give a boost on heatbed heat up process

Electronics probably ramps or rambo, I never used rambo, I am using ramps 1.4 now, only issues is arduino didn't have much power from the psu and I need to hook external 5v supply through the usb port
