I use buildtak on a sheet of glass [www.buildtak.com]
Bed heat of 65c
I put a box around the printer to keep the heat in.

I just finished building my i3.
I got this one from Amazon.
Once the build was completed, I removed the masking tape from the hotbed, assuming that it was for shipping purposes to make sure it doesn't get scratched up.
But now, I see that some people print on the tape and even one of the pictures in the Amazon link above shows it printing on top of the tape.
Did I make a mistake in removing the tape or will I be okay as long as I spray the Aquanet on the aluminum plate?

Just curious. Does your printer have a heated bed?
I just got my printer and the first 3 test prints got unstuck. Then I noticed in the manual it recommended for ABS the nozzle temp be 195c and the print bed be 60c.

I opened the gcode file I was trying to print and saw it wasnt setting the temperature of the printbed. I uncommented the line and set it 60c.

Check what temp your bed is when your trying to print, if you are printing ABS, you need about 60c.

Hope this helps! I am a noob too. smiling smiley
