Layers are printing very thin and brittle

The layers on my prints have been very bad lately. I'm not sure what has changed from before, but the first layer and all of the layers after that have been printing very thin and not very consistent. I'm not really sure what could be causing it or how to describle it, but if anyobody could help me figure out the problem that they see in the picture and what could be causing it, it would be greatly appreciated.
