I built my self a printer and it started working ok but now it is skipping steps on the y-axis. It seems to do it only one way Y+. I have put a mark on the pulley and the belt and it does not skip teeth. I have played with the jerk setting and acceleration but it doesnt make a big difference. I am wondering about the size of stepper I am using it is a Wantai Nema17 Stepper Motor 42BYGHW208 0.4A 2800g.cm. The bed is make out of wood but is light and the middle is cut out.
I have oiled the linear bearings and rods.
I have adjusted the current to 0.30V.
Is there any tests to see if the motor is to small? I might look at buying a new motor that is 4000 g.cm but if I dont have to I rather not.
Any help or ideas would be great.
