Infill3D extruder upgrade - Auto Home Issue
September 09, 2016 12:57PM
Hi All,

So I'm new to this forum, but I have had my Hictop 13 around 3 months now and i have slowly been printing upgraded parts along with lots of other random prints.

I have fitted my Infill3d parts all ok.

But for some strange reason the direction of the Auto home has changed and it now moves right instead of left and hitting the mirco switch.

Ive changed nothing, so this is puzzling me, it is like the polarity of the motor has changed.

Is there anything in the setting to change this.

Any help would be amazing.

Thanks

Rokh

Firmware should have setting which way the home is and whether your endstop is MIN or MAX.

Are you really sure the motor polarity has not changed?

It might also be a problem with a connector, but usually the motor just changes direction randomly.

I cant connect my mac to my printer, so cant edit or check the firmware. But ive not changed anything.

I just dont understand why it is doing what it is doing.

Thanks

The connectors only connect one way.

some micro switches have normally open and normally closed connections as well as a common very easy to test limit switches by physically moving the axis by hand to mid travel then initiate a software home for that axis and as it moves press the limit switch and movement should stop otherwise it is a bad switch or incorrect firmware setting. Most limit switches are mechanical but could be optical or even proximity and require different activations
