Odd problem after shortcircuit
October 10, 2016 12:54PM
Hi, here's my problem:

I've got a prusa i3 and one day i was heating the extruder to clean it. Doing so the 2 wires of the heating cartridge, which got naked over doing that kind of stuff i guess, touched each other. They went red.
When i checked out my printer i found my hotend's thermistance died but also the heatbed doesn't heat anymore and the extruder stepper motor doesn't work.
I first thought it was the ramps that melted in the process so i changed it but nothing.
I'm struggling to understand what's going on.
I checked the stepper motor and its polulu and both work. The heatbed themistance seems to work as well. Anything else seems to be ok...

Do you have guess?
Thanks anyway.

Re:
Reading around on the forum i found out that the mega arduino have a "5V regulator".
Do you think it's possible my motherboard partially died?
Does anybody have an idea on how to check it?

Thx
