probably incorrect port or baud rate selected in config file

Google is your friend here, just search "Geeetech 2560 Board communication timeout"

Looks like this is an issue with no real solution, some users find its the USB cable, other the USB port on the computer not supplying enough power, version of arduino, and what looks to be the most common, missing or corrupted bootloader.

If you have updated the firmware before, then start by looking at other solutions, leave the bootloader till last, not a fun one

Yes but why?

Because you haven't explained to us what you have tried.

Make a good faith attempt to solve the problem yourself first. If we can't see enough work on your part your question will likely be booed off the stage

Showing people how you have tried to solve your own problem, will make them more likely to donate their time into helping you solve it.

OK I've tried to uload a file in Cura and the printer could not be found. I tried a firmware update and the error message is what I had.
Thanks

Disclaimer: Not trying to be a dick, just trying to help you resolve your problems.

[lmgtfy.com]

After some searching and research, and perhaps adding same technique to You Tube.

What have you tried, per suggestions, and what has the program told you?

TL;DR: There could be a few reasons for the problems you are having, and without doing some additional trouble shooting/research, all that can be given are general answers to your general questions.
