Bubbles under Build Surface

Bad News on My ABS Printing endeavor.

I have been printing with Vinyl Transfer Paper Tape over My Build Surface now for Almost 1 year with no Build Surface adhesion Problems.
Now that I have turned up the Temp 86°-100°C to the Build Surface, Air bubbles are forming between the Build Surface and the Aluminum Heat bed.

Is this what everyone is mistaking for an warped build surface or is this something that is occurring only on my 3D Printer setup.

Don't tell me I should have done an auto bed leveling, because my inductive proximity sensor cannot detect the non-ferrous build surface material.
And if I had a BL-touch the bubbles easily compressed with the slightest pressure back to the aluminum bed appearing to not be there, so do not believe a BL-touch would have made a difference.
Now an optical bed sensor would have detected the bubbles but when the Nozzle came across the bubble it would merely deform the bubbles causing the bed leveling data to still be inaccurate.

Anyway I took a sewing needle and poked tiny holes in the build surface and squeegeed pretty hard to remove the air bubbles, an make the build surface level again.

I know my warped build surface wasn't from that because I am printing on a piece of glass. My issue was the pcb heater being warped and the thin glass conforming to it. My issue was solved by putting an aluminum plate on top of the pcb heater.

I changed from 3mm glass to 4mm worked like a charm.

I wonder what was gassing out? The adhesive or the Vinyl itself? Maybe a better adhesive would change things.
Did you apply the Vinyl with soapwater? Maybe there was trapped water starting to boil?

First I cleaned the aluminum heat bed surface that was about to receive the build surface, and allowed to dry completely.
I measured the build plate cut the build surface to fit the Heat Bed, warmed the hotbed removed the paper backing for the build surface.
Then center the build surface above the bed allowing the front edge to touch and using a Vinyl transfer squeegee I slowly lowered the surface to the bed making sure no air bubbles formed.

This is the same technique I use when applying Vinyl sign decals to sign faces.

It would be interesting to try a Vinyl foil that isn't selfadhesive and use 3M thermal tape instead

I Am Going to Quote Myself, somehow we got off track. I stopped using the Transfer Tape on the build surface.

Because I originally could not get the Filament to stick to the Build surface, I was placing a Tape Over the Surface this works prefect at PLA Temps.
Now when I tried to Print ABS, the Tape Would Not stick the the Build Surface because of the bed temperature, and would pull away from the bed surface.


This this is where we got mixed up. ("some how not sure, maybe the build surface had some sort of residue and adding and removing the tape has eliminated the residue")
Now Printing the ABS directly on the Build Surface works, ("and low and behold printing the PLA sticks now also") what's UP!!! (" Residue ??? or Bad Build Surface or Both ")
But the Build Surface had bubbles build up under it after print a few ABS Prints, And as hard as it was to stick a needle through the build surface I did and released the air bubbles.

Small prints stick fairly good, larger prints will need more than my knowledge base to keep them from warping on the build surface. (" it still does not have quite enough adhesion to hold ")
Quick large Prints like these print really good.

Now is has not re-occur sense the first time that I noticed it had air bubbles under the Build Surface.

I Have Tried a High Tack Vinyl Transfer Plastic Tape with better success, it stayed on the build Surface better with ABS. (" though the tape is too thin and if nozzle too low it melts into the model ")

I use extra hold hairspray, it works with PLA, PetG, not tries ABS, but have been told ot does work.

Yes I have heard about the Hair Spray.

Believe me I will have to try I just updated my firmware auto leveling matrix to 6x by 8y

Now I am trying to print a new ABS LCD display case Top, and it will print with a little warp on the front right corner. About a millimeter or two.
I believe the Hairspray will give the added hold (" adhesion ") needed to complete the print without any warping.

You know the second it hit the kitchen table all women were grabbing at it claiming it as theirs,
Did not think I was ever going to regain custody of this single can of hair spray for my 3D Printers.

From this day forward it will have to be smuggled into the house or more cans will have to be purchased.

You do realize that this is very offensive to women (and transgenders, queers, bi .... ) and could lead to complaints if not a lawsuit ?
