EEPROM

When clearing eeprom is it better to have cleared from octoprint or the lcd?
As soon as i start editing eeprom from anything other than the firmware or LCD the dimensions of the machine change. I had this experience once when using repetier host.

Please Help.

I had a similar problem that also caused my 3D Printer to think that I had 3.0mm filament when only have 1.75mm filament.
To say the least the prints looked like Swiss cheese with all the under-extrusion.

I use a terminal or the LCD nothing else after my experiences. Not to say it would always turn out bad, just want to be consistent to try and avoid these type errors.
