Geeetech I3 Pro B problems after updating
February 21, 2025 02:42PM
Tried to update firmware on my Geeetech I3 Pro B and created problems. I do not have BL Touch nor any other type of auto leveling. My bed will not home AND my z axis is moving about 10x what it should. Anybody able to guide me as to what I've done wrong? I know it has to be in the firmware but have no idea what I need to change. Thanks

I can try.

You will need to Post what firmware you tried to upgrade to. And does your Geeetech I3 Pro B still original hardware.

On this Link are a whole list of Marlin firmware versions pre configured for Geeetech I3 Pro B.

The micro steps Z axis are 1600 micro steps for trapezoidal rod T8x2 so will need to select your language and your Z-Axis micro-steps and should be close.
Most likely will need to change the 1600 to 2560 for stock Geeetech PI3 Pro B

OK thanks.
Bone stock I3 Pro B. 1.1.? . Used the example Geeetech/ Prusa I3 Pro B " configure.h" file.
My steps are set to 2560 .
My firmware came from marlinfw.org and is the "1.1.? bugfix".

I tried a couple different versions of those from your link but didn't have any more success.

OK. Found the problem with the z steps. They needed to be set to 400.

Good.

I looked at a image of a Geeetech I3 Pro B it appeared to have a standard 1.25 pitch lead screw.

Okay I will look to see what can be done to help !

Think I have it working semi properly. Had to disable safe homing to gain control of everything in order to manually level.

Is the configure h file the same from version to version or do you need to write a new one every update?

The Configuration.h file varies form version to version. I use Winmerge to compare both files.
Winmerge allows you to compare two or even three files then make changes to them and save any or all.

In fact it is probably time to see what the next version of winmerge has to offer.

Thanks. I've looked for a solution to my next problem. Y axis won't home. I've looked at the file and just can't seem to see what might fix it. Plus when I manually put it against the end it moves about 20mm to home, so to speak. Where do I look for the issue?

start with checking your endstops using M119 gcode

I suspect you will find that the Y endstop is already triggered when not home.
