Fisher delta printer design files? BOM?
August 05, 2015 12:02PM
I have been looking for the design files as well as the BOM for fisher. I can't seem to find them. Anyone know where they are or is this closed source?

I would like to 3d print my own fisher version.

Thank you.

It seems like most of the parts are there. It gives me an idea of what I need. I am going to purchase some parts and hopefully build my second delta printer soon.

I installed Solidworks eDrawings to view them, and nothing special. Are you sure you downloaded the RAW file ?

The SolidWorks files are version 2015; you may be trying to open it in 2014. Blame SolidWorks for making us upgrade! And like Greg_be says, make sure you download the whole repository (download the ZIP file on the first page), or download 'RAW' files. If you right-click and download on the links in the list, you get an html page, not the file!

If the part isn't hugely complex you can get around the Solidworks version problem by saving parts as a step files in the new version so that people can import them into older versions. I've done this a few times and found that Solidworks usually does a pretty good job of feature recognition from step files. I'm currently waiting for the 2015 upgrade at work too, I'm hoping I'll come through in the next few days.
