Nema 17 for an extruder - cheapest local source?

It seems that my Google-fu is weakening. I can't seem to find a decent Nema 17 stepper for my extruder locally for less than what I can import one for, i.e. just under 25 bucks inc. shipping. Can anyone point me at one? Thanks! There was a guy on Trademe who used to sell them but of course, "I'll get one later"...

Nope, your google-fu is fine. This is just how it is.

Hi,
I bought some Minibea steppers of trademe about a year ago for $15 each new and they have been fine on my reprap. Searched my old emails and tracked the guy down his Trademe name is Colza though he does not have any auctions on at present it might be worth contacting him.

Hope this helps. I prefer ebay these days often you can get free shipping out of Asia it is a bit of a risk re quality, recently I was quoted heater cartridges from a local manufacturer at $76 each! Got some great ones out of Hong Kong for $7 each (incl shipping) and they were here quicker than the local ones as well!

regards
Andrew

Minebea - that was them! He was doing 3 for $42 or $15 each - I remember now. Should have snagged them when I had the chance.

This is the best deal I've seen so far:

You have to buy 10 but they come in at around $18 each.

That's pretty good, thanks. $7 extra to get just the one I need from Goodluckbuy. Decisions, decisions...

my big issue is that any time i find a decent price for a motor, that shipping costs more than the motor. $50 or more for shipping is ridiculous.

At least with goodluckbuy the shipping's free (same for most of the Chinese bucket shops).

The shipping costs on my printer build finished up at $122.90 NZ after a lot of shopping around. I could possibly have done better, but that eats further into my very limited free time.

Have you tried molten media here in Christchurch? He has 2nd hand steppers quite often.
