New to RepRap.

I am considering building my own 3D printer. I would appreciate your advice on where to start.

I already have a spare 3 axis stepper board and motors to make a RepRap. But was considering attaching an extruder to my homade CNC as it utilises linear bearings and has good resolution. It also allows for 100mm clearence in the Z axis?

Using [reprap.org] ?

Should be straightforward. Do you have a decent traverse rate? Some folk with adapted mills feel they are a little slow for RepStrapping.

Remember, you're all RepRap developers (once you've joined the super-secret developer mailing list), and the wiki, RepRap.org, [reprap.org] is for everyone and everything! grinning smiley

Feedrate is 1750mm/min in X axis and 2500mm/min in Z & Y. It uses Windows Xp and Mach3 for control.

What is typical for RepStrapping?
