Cant compile V2.0
April 23, 2018 11:28AM
Hello everyone,

I've been trying for a couple days now to upgrade from V1.1.8 to V2.0, but I haven't been able to compile it because the file name is to long. I've done some google searching, and I've done some of the suggestions (the ones I can understand). Like completely removing the Arduino IDE, and reinstalling it in a different location (C:\Ardunio), and placing the Marlin folder as as main folder (C:\Marlin). Both of these ideas don't work. What other options can I do that will allow me to compile V2.0? I'm not familiar with the Arduino IDE, so I don't know all the little tips and tricks to get this to work.

Thanks for the help.
Anthony

You need to use the beta 1.9 version of Arduino to compile 2.0. It won't work with Arduino 1.8.5. The other option is to use PlatformIO instead of Arduino but I don't know how difficult that is to set up.

Ok, I will try that tonight. Hopefully it works.
