Can't set Z probe offset

Can't set Z probe offset
July 26, 2018 05:42AM
I have a Delta printer.
I've just upgraded it with Hiwin and new carbon rods.
I can't set the proper nozzle height and so the printer goes too close to the bed and don't extrude.

  • I have a nozzle based probe
  • i have optic endstop
  • This system always worked with this setup
  • I upgraded marlin fw and back then i have this problem
  • I tried + or - 0.4mm and even 1mm buth nothing changes

Here are some pics:

The actual FW:

 * Enable this option for a probe connected to any pin except Z-Min.
 * (By default Marlin assumes the Z-Max endstop pin.)
 * To use a custom Z Probe pin, set Z_MIN_PROBE_PIN below.
 *
 * - The simplest option is to use a free endstop connector.
 * - Use 5V for powered (usually inductive) sensors.
 *
 * - RAMPS 1.3/1.4 boards may use the 5V, GND, and Aux4->D32 pin:
 * - For simple switches connect...
 *      - normally-closed switches to GND and D32.
 *      - normally-open switches to 5V and D32.

Re: Can't set Z probe offset

I updated the firmware to the bugfix version but it is always 0.5mm too close to the bed no matter the value I set on Z_PROBE_OFFSET
Re: Can't set Z probe offset
July 27, 2018 06:18AM
Are you changing the Z offset in the config.h or in the eeprom.
Values in eeprom will always have precedence over the values in config

In the latter case where you update the config.h and upload the firware, you need to send a M502 followed by M500 to update the eeprom values.
