extruder as 4th axis

has anyone used one of the secondary extruder as a 4th axis?
if no one has done it, the marlin code is pretty big which files I should be looking into to make this modifications?
I will like to add endstop to one of the extruder to make it a 4th axis

Why would you want a 4th axis? That would over-constrain the system

You seem confused. A 4th axis is not the same as say 4 mounting points on heated bed....

No I’m not confused - if you move in 3 dimensional space with 4 axis, your system is overconstrained and may jam

4th axis is normally rotation, eg the bed may rotate around Y, so you can print on the side of things..

On 3d printers It can also be a Dual independent X axis, or real physical bed leveling with multiple Z axis....

not over constrained at all..

I'm working on a robotic arm, I want to use this firmware to control it.
Genesys regarding 4th axis 3d printer this is what Dust is referring to

There is a huge thread about this,

some have various versions of 1.1.x working

One guy DerAnder has a 2.0 version working
and it sounds like 2.0 will support thru Hangprinter like architecture multiple axis

Github 4th axis Marlin

Using the info in that thread I was able to get it working (kind of dirty like) in 1.1.8 where my E0 is a 4th axis and I can home it.
