Bit of a random, yet serious, question, but why did the developers choose the name Marlin? Does anyone know? Is there any fish related anecdote?

I only ask as there is a user on Stack Exchange - 3D Printing who is asking, see here: Where did Marlin get its name?, and it seemed like a useless yet fun fact to know.
