Reprap full graphics controller display problem

My display works only when I connect cable to my laptop. But just by simply turn ON the power supply my display don't work.
Is this because of voltage problem. If yes, how can I check my voltage going into the display and how can I control that? Where this voltage regulator to adjust voltage. I am using ramps 1.4 and aurdino mega 2560. Please give me suggestions on this.
THANKS IN ADVANCE

You most likely have a dead 5v voltage regulator on the mega2560.

check 5v pins on ramps, suspect the voltage will be low

12v power comes into the ramps, through D1 then into the mega2560 vin pin. The mega then produces 5v.

Indeed, I think you're right. Let me just add that it's really easy to replace such a regulator if you can solder. Almost every electronics shop has one in my experience.

Just to serve as an example, it doesn't even have to be the exact same part, but it would be nice if you can find the same part of course:

My 12 V pins on ramps1.4 shows 12v correctly but 5v pins on ramps1.4 shows low voltage. What could be the reason for this? Is this the reason for my display doesn't work without connecting to the Computer?
How can I verify the voltage going to the reprap ful; graphics display?
