I have a CR10 S5 printer that was purchased around 2017-18. I've never used Marlin before and I'm trying to upgrade my printer's firmware with Marlin 2.0. When I compile the configuration code I get the following error:
'fork/exec C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\hardware]tools\avr/bin/avr-gcc.exe: the filename or extension is too long.'
Where can I change the length of the filename? Any suggestions that you folks have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Don't use arduino ide on windows for marlin.
It cannot handle such a large complicated program.

Use vscode/platformio [marlinfw.org]
