I'm new here and I have a question about the Marlin firmware for my home build laser engraver.
I have made a laser engraver from mostly spare parts, it's a custom frame with Creality 4.2.2 mainboard and Octopi.
There are some manuals on laser/spindles fw configs for Marlin 1.x but not much on 2.x.
I would like to disable Z and E steppers, all temperature sensors and fail safes and perhaps delete all obsolete code.
Can I comment out or delete things like thermistor settings in the configuration files without messing up the whole firmware?
Or are there dependencies in the code that will instantly ruin my day?
What else in the config files should I take into consideration when laser engraving?
Experience wise: I'm glad I can edit and compile my Ender 3 V2 Marlin firmware myself for use with 0,9 steppers and an E3D V6 hotend + thermistor.
That's where my experience stops for the moment.
