Inductive Probe Issues.

Currently I'm doing firmware configuration on a Duet 2 Wifi v1.03 that I've had for a little while. When trying to probe Z my Duet throws an error

G28 Z
Error: Z probe already triggered at start of probing move
Error: Z probe already triggered at start of probing move
Error: G0/G1: insufficient axes homed

Currently I'm using a PL-08N inductive probe for bed leveling. The brown wire goes to +24V on the powersupply, the blue wire goes to the GND pin on the Z probe header, and the black wire goes into the cathode of a BAT83 diode, with the anode connected to the Z_PROBE_IN pin on the Z probe header (as per [duet3d.dozuki.com])

I can verify that the probe does indeed work. When touched to the bed a red LED on the probe activates. I've also done continuity tests to verify that all of my crimps are good.
My command to configure the probe is M558 P5 I1 H5 R0.1 F1800 T99999 A1 B1.

I can't actually tell if the probe is triggering the pin because I don't know how I'd test that. If I probe the Z_PROBE_IN and GND pins the multimeter effectively creates a short that bypasses the probe entirely. It could also be a firmware issue potentially but I've tried both I0 and I1 parameters and it still produces the same error, so I suspect it may be a wiring issue.

Anyone have any ideas on what I can try?

See [duet3d.dozuki.com] for how to test and calibrate a Z probe.

I have the exact same issue. My probe is working, but I need to invert the signal.
I0 doesn't do anything. (Capital i and zero)

Sending an M119 gives this:
Endstops - X: not stopped, Y: not stopped, Z: at max stop, Z probe: at min stop

Firmware Name: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet
Firmware Electronics: Duet WiFi 1.02 or later
Firmware Version: 2.03beta3 (2019-03-25b6)
WiFi Server Version: 1.20beta2
Web Interface Version: 1.19.3

You need to use i1 not i0.
