Optical EndStop for DUET 0.8.5
April 11, 2016 03:08PM
Hello there,
I have bought a Duet board from think3dprint3d.com and also your height
sensor and the PCB to build a delta 3d printer. It is almost ready but I
also have donne some upgrades like 0,9 degree step motors , 24 V power
source magnetic effector and also I have 3 Omron endstop sensors and I
don.t know how to connect them. The Omron endstop has 4 wires VCC, L,
GND and OUTPUT and have 2 modes of operation DARK-ON and LIGHT-ON
Duet 0.8.5 board have STP, 3V3 and GND.
I have the EE-SX671-WR/671P-WR model installed on my printer
Also on sensor specs it says that min voltage is 5 V....where on the Duet board I have 5 V (enable 5V internal with the connection pin )
Please if you can help me I would appreciate very much….
thank you

If I enable the internal 5 V instead of the 3V3 do I have 5 V on that pin or I have to pick the 5 V from other pin on the board

You may find that the sensor works OK with 3.3V instead of 5V. If it does need 5V, you can get +5V from pin 1 of the expansion connector.

I suggest you use the light-on configuration, which will behave like a normally--closed microswitch.

I resolved the case and took the 5 v from the pin you specified and used the LIGHT ON configuration. Thank you
