Is it possible to turn on and off the hotend fan?

Hi,

I have a Duet v0.6 in Fisher. The firmware is RepRapFirmware-dc42 1.12a.
I'd like to turn off the blower during the idle by creating two macros on DWC.

What do you mean by "during the idle"? You can have it turn off at the end of a print by including M106 S0 in your slicer end gcode.

I think he means something like 'thermostatic mode', where the fan is turned off if the Hotend is cold...
This can be done by a G-Code like:
"M106 P1 T65 H1; Thermostatic Fan will start while Heater 1 reach 65°C"
As can be found in the awesome Aquilegia help system:

Fisher has one fan connected to F0 pins.
It runs at constant speed until the power turns off. I also connected a 5V fan on the expansion pin to cool down the board.
I like to know RepRapFirmware provide gcode commands that control the speed of two fans.

M106 controls the speed of the fan connected to FAN0. Look up M106 on the Gcode wiki for details.

On my fisher I moved my fan connection to FAN0 and added M106 P0 T35 H1 to config.g. which causes the fan to run when ever the hot end is 35c or hotter. This goes agaisnt the orginal instructions which tell you not to connect to the FAN0- port and instead use the strip by the motor connections.
