Odd issue after upgrading to 1.16

After upgrading to 1.16 I've noticed that the M300 command no longer makes my PanelDue beep, but looking on the PanelDue console is shows {"beep_freq":500,"beep_length":250} pressing the buttons on the PanelDue screen still causes a beep to occur so I know that the pizo beeper is working.

I can guess why that is happening. Will be fixed in next release.

The PanelDue display freezing is back too with RepRapFirmware 1.16 and PanelDue-1.15c As soon as you select a file to print, it changes over to the print screen but is then frozen until the bed is at temperature then it updates properly after that part. Same result if you start a print from the PanelDue or the DWC page. Only time it doesn't freeze is if it's already on the Print screen.

That issue never went away. It's on the list to be fixed as part of a much larger change to how commands are executed. There are various workarounds if you have sufficient control over the heating commands that your slicer generates.

I have just tried sending M300 to three systems via the web interface (two Duet WiFi, one Duet 0.6). On all three the PanelDue does beep, and the console log shows the message you describe. So I am wondering why yours is not beeping.

EDIT: I just worked out what is going on. Either PanelDue or the web interface beeps, whichever picks it up first.

Is that by design?

I can only guess the latest version is more stable/faster at keeping the web interface connected which is why I've only just noticed it.

I was wrong, the beep only comes from the web interface. The bug fix will be in the next 1.17 dev build.
