Connecting servo

Hi!

Is it possible to connect a servo on the Duet Wifi without one of the expansion boards?

Thanks,

Frédéric

Yes if it will work with a 3.3V control signal. See [duet3d.com].

Yes, the servo I plan to use works fine with 3.3V.

Ok, so, I just have to get the signal from the expansion bus of the Duet Wifi, and power up the servo from an external power supply (it can drain up to 2A when stalled)?

The 5V supply on the Duet is rated at 2A and is already powering the Duet and the PanelDue if you have one. So yes, if your servo may draw as much as 2A then an external supply for it would be wise. If you don't expect it to stall in normal use then you could use the internal 5V supply. It is current limited so the occasional servo stall shouldn't damage it.
