New to Duet Wifi and RepRapFirmware
November 06, 2017 03:00PM
Got my new Delta built with a Duet Wifi, currently running firmware 1.19. Never used either before, it's quite different than I what I know.

I'm running through the configurator (https://configurator.reprapfirmware.org/)
And have questions, on the first page.

Firmware Compatibility, what should I have this set to?
Reads like it will emulate a particular firmware so it sends responses that certain host software can recognize. I don't plan on using anything like Pronterface or Repetier.

Enable non-volatile memory, should I enable?

The firmware compatibility setting only affects communication over USB. The usual selection is Marlin because that's what Pronterface and similar programs assume.

Non-volatile memory: this is like EEPROM on 8-bit firmwares. Your choice.
