Cutting M4 thread in Smart EffectorPCB?
March 10, 2018 03:22AM
Hi David,
I want to replace the M3 ballstuds with an M4 assembly. I'd have to drill the holes to 3.2mm and cut an M4 thread.
I know, the surface of the PCB has a big clearance around the ball stud area, but is it a 4-layer design?

The PCB is 2-layer.

Be careful to maintain exactly the same spacing between the ball studs at the top and bottom of the arms. So make sure that your drill bit is accurately centred. I don't know how accurately you can tap 1.6mm epoxy glass.
