I have just wasted a bunch of time on making a better (seven prototypes) probe for the Delta and it got me to wondering if the probe could be active at all time.

The current incarnation of probe that seems to be the most consistent is a micro-switch on a fixed arm. The problem with that is remembering to lift the arm before printing as the switch is below the nozzle.

This got me pondering the wisdom of having the Z-Probe signal overriding all at all times. If I forget to remove the fixed probe (I am old, I forget stuff) instead of the micro-switch slamming into the table, the always-live Z-Probe signal would halt the print.

Possible?
