I wonder about the difficulties to develop a marine vessel integrated with a 3D printer.
which knows how to collect garbage from the ocean.
autonomously or by control through a satellite connection
and reproduce itself by shredding the garbage and printing part of it.
So the cleaning capacity will double every unit of time

Not all plastic is not the same. so first you have separate types, only some are thermal plastics, and even those all have different melting points

This is what is known as a pipe dream

... so my idea was to thermally "convert" collected materials into coal and use it together with sand, fibers and lignin as "binder" to build floating blocks and assemble big and even bigger rafts from them smoking smiley

You can read trough some of the descriptions here - [reprap.org]

A submarine raft or island are coolsmileys with beer

The advantage of a motorized tool is that the nature of controlling it is playful .(via satellite internet )
and it can be used as a tool to increase consciousness.

for example in nature lesson, the children can take control of the submarine and collect trash in the ocean.

The reason for a unit that knows how to duplicate itself is that the amounts of junk are astronomical.
And an effective solution should be an exponential solution.
Similar to the reprap project at the beginning. (10 years ago I made printers to several friends from the one i had And mine was not the first printer ).
