This Friday and Saturday we are doing what I hope will be a fairly unique Reprap build at Glasgow Sculpture Studios.

Friday 19 & Saturday 20 October 10am – 10pm (2 day event) Workshop (Professional) If you’re an artist, curator or other arts professional please join us for a two, 12 hour day build event that will oversee the creation of a new open-source 3D printer developed by GSS and utilising our new production facilities. The printer will be unique in that it has been designed by GSS in collaboration with Blair Thompson of Glasgow Open Source Hardware Group (GOSHG) and we will be releasing the 3D build files as an open source download through our website.Participants can be involved in the whole build, and or drop in and out. Food and refreshments supplied throughout the event. This project is led by Blair Thompson GOSHG and GSS. This event is in association with Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop and GOSHG.
The printers that we are making will be manufactured in steel, using the skills of the members of the Sculpture Studio. Plastic parts and the design are based around the Prusa I3. We hope that some other interesting designs will come to fruition on the day.
The event is open to all, experienced reprappers and interested novices are equally welcome. Beware, you may find yourself involved!
