Hey people

I see Mouser will cover the customs duties but small print for international orders says something about VAT collected from customer.... if so I would imagine the mail handling charge would be levied as well....

I initially thought everything was included in the price but now am not so sure.

Has anyone purchased a large order from Mouser and can they tell me if there were charges levied on this side or is mouser also a 'UK' company?

They have a UK web site but the goods come from the US. I got charged VAT by the carrier. The amount of VAT was set by customs and they charged VAT on an imaginary shipping cost of $50. In fact it was free shipping. I tried to get the money back but the form I had to fill in wasn't worth my time for 15% of $50 so I gave up.

Did you have to pay the extortionate handling fee that the carrier charges (eg royal mail is 8 quid) if VAT / duties are to be paid?
