Here is my new 1.75mm push-fit Hot-end design to go with my Bowden extruder -

It's using PEEK and PTFE tube in a similar manner to the new design by Adrian.

More build info on my Blog, and thanks for looking.

Rich.

Hi Rich

What bore size PTFE sleeve are you using in the hot end with the 1.75 filament?

Hi Ian

The PTFE tube is 4mm OD and 2mm ID, I could get a smaller bore with a tighter fit but as I wanted to use Pneumatic connectors I decided to try this size first.
This will be my first experiments using a Bowden extruder, so I expect I have lots to learn before it's going to work well.

If anyone knows any tricks and tips for getting it all working, I would appreciate any words of wisdom, especially how to deal with a Bowden extruder in software.

Cheers,

Rich

Hi Rich,

... how long is your tube?

Especially for the 1.75mm-filament it should be as short as possible ...

Hi Viktor,

It is 35cm at the moment with just one slow 90 degree bend, Is that going to be a problem? I could make it shorter, but It's going to reduce my build height.

Rich.
