I came across this:-

which describes a new ink that is an N type semiconductor. There are already P type semiconductor inks according to the article, so one day we might even be able to print not just the circuit boards but the semiconductors as well.

They talk of using a modified ink jet printer, maybe we should introduce them to the world of RepRap.

Here's your man:

Check also "Unidym" for CNT-inks. Probably out of our reach for now...

And here's some "state-of-the-art" in "printable electronics" from Japan:

[techon.nikkeibp.co.jp]
(E.g. "a nonvolatile RAM with a capacity of 1,024 bits.")

Actually, the scale of the conducive strands look quite large. Maybe
on the purpose, for the fair demo?

PS. Although I'm not affiliated in any way with Nikkei BP,
I want to advertise their site at [techon.nikkeibp.co.jp]
as it often contains a lots of very interesting stuff invented
in Japan. And the articles have been translated surprisingly
well into English.

Seriously, does anybody have any inkling,
how easy it would be to "liberate" this technology
of printable electronics for the DIY'ers?
(After all, haven't the researchers used the
inkjet printers in their labs?)

Any pointers?

Here is just some standard forward-looking hype:

Some equipment makers are listed at:
[en.wikipedia.org]

After some googling:
I found this:

(Doesn't look exactly cheap...)
