Thermal Fuses for Heater

Thermal Fuses for Heater

Are there any thermal fuses that operate in the 500F temperature range.
I would really like to have a failsafe that kills the power to my heater
if something goes wrong with the temperature control.

The closest I have found are replacement thermal fuses for coffee pots
that open around 400F.

... you can apply lower-temp thermal fuses when positioning them not directly near the heating zone ...

I use a non welded thermocouple for temp control, and have the software look for out of range temperature values. If either of the thermocouple wires come loose, or things get too high, I shut down the heater. If you're using a Makerbot motherboard with an ATX power supply, you can even turn off the power supply automatically.
