Via have released the designs for their OpenBook laptop under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported License.

The CAD drawings can be downloaded from [
www.viaopenbook.com] but you have to do the free registration thing before you can download them.
It looks as if it is just the external panels but even that could give you quite a lot of flexibility to personalise/mod your laptop.
It would be nice if we could slowly add in other parts and build up the design for a laptop (incl. CPU, SSD etc.) that can just be printed out and snapped together using a nth generation Reprap.
