Really, could that be a way of powdering it for recycling?

But only if you remove the moisture generated by condension that will invariably form at any temp above 0 degrees. Particles behave funny with liquids, and the recycling process could be effected by moisture.

Still, with a little bit of kiln-drying (or similar,) that won't be an issue--you'd just have to first do some general pulverizing while it's still frozen before drying.

get some gold spray paint, and make jewelry, or stupid over-designed shoes & handbags,

[in between what its really for, prototype robot armies etc]

Print your stamp, glue some rubber over it and push hard over the top to make indents in the rubber and then cut out the holes with a knife. Now you have a firm base plus a soft rubber coating,, should be a perfect stamp. Alternatively print the stamp directly on to the rubber and follow the above.

PS, haven't even started my reprap so the above might be rubbish but it will be the first thing I try.

Hi DaveR,

even if the RepRap would only replicate itself,
it is a great learning process to get into the topic, to achieve skills (to be able), to build one (creativity).
If the skills to build one are spread, the technology - the RepRap - can be distributed and evolve - and more
people can tinker with it, come up with ideas and use cases.

Someone who can build a RepRap is empowered - because of the openness -
to adapt the technology and provide a solution for a unique problem.

The great effect I observed is, having a RepRap comes with a desire
to be able to construct data which can be 3d printed. Another self-driven learning process -
which is empowering the individual.

The wide spread access to (advanced) open source technology and knowledge is a guarantor,
that at some point in the future, RepRap - the idea behind it, will find a fertile ground for the broader benefit of mankind.
Meanwhile it is still legitimate to just support and spread the idea of 'Open Source Hardware', 'Open design' by
helping your friends and colleagues to get a RepRap too.
