Portal Gun

Hello.

My RepMan-kit should arrive in about 6 weeks and
until then I'll try to get a reprapable model
of the different parts of a Portal Gun (as a prop
for a custume) going.

Is anyone else interested in this and willing
to cooperate?

Apart from <45° overhangs and the resolution,
what else do I need to worry about when doing
the model?

Details:
I think I'll construct the front out of 2 flat parts
per arm and make all the rings separate objects
to be glued together after fabrication.
I'm not sure about the large white part that makes
the back of it yet.

I have a 3d model of the portal gun in *.obj format if it will help. I've been looking into this whole 3d printing thing, but it seems a bit more complicated than I'd like to admit. If you would print up some parts for me I'll gladdly send you some 3d models.

It is still 5 weeks until my Repman-Kit arrives
but I'd like to have a look at your model to see
if and what parts of it can be produced.

Cool! could you send me the files? I have a working MakerBot, and have already printed out a (less than stellar) companion cube, and would love a portal gun to go with it!

I'd also love a look at the files if it was possible.

I'm still assembling my RepMan and ran out of time.
So I have build my Portal Gun using a papier mâché
on construction foam.
