Hi all,

I am very glad to announce that we have been able to make a variety of color choices available in 3mm filament and can offer 100m Rainbow Sample Packs.

Each pack features 10 different colors of filament in lengths of 10 meters per coil.

In the near future we will be able to offer more volume in single colors, and hope that you will take some interest and see what we've got to offer. We are trying to get off the ground and will be initially selling our Sample Packs for $35 plus shipping to the US. Please PM me if you are outside of the US

Due to demand we have a limited supply, better get yours quick!

Just wanted to say that I've been using the Buttercream from this pack for the last few days. After a little tweaking to find that this likes printing at ~170C (according to my thermistor), I have made a couple of picture perfect 20mm calibration cubes.

He mentions on his site that this filament is sourced from Faberdashery, and the quality of what i've received seems to match what I've heard of their products. And I did receive it pretty quickly. Diameter is pretty consistent, it seems to be round, and the colors are pretty unique compared to what you can get elsewhere. Now if only he could stock Glowbug Yellow...

Faberdashery recommend to use 200 to 210 °C for their PLA, and my experiments confirms that it needs higher temp than others. Of course it all depends on thermistor calibration, so YMMV smiling smiley

Most of my technical comments should be correct, but is THIS one ?
Anyway, as a rule of thumb, always double check what people write.

Your post convinced me to borrow a thermocouple set from the office for the night... Fortunately my hotend runs about 2 degrees cooler inside the chamber than the electronics reports.

I can't find the recommended temp on Faberdashery's site. I noticed that their datasheets call our NatureWorks 4043D, which is the same as the natural PLA I normally use from Ultimachine at about 180C. From what I understand, older NatureWorks PLA products needed more heat to melt. Is it possible Faberdashery was using something else when you saw those recommendations?

Edit: After using those temps on some objects with overhangs and failing miserably, I tried 210/200 and got great results.

Nope, they didn't change the plastic as far as I know - they posted that recommended temperature somewhere in the forums, replying to someone - sorry I can't remember more.

The difference to natural ultimachine PLA is what I tested : ultimachine was fine at 180/190°C, whereas faberdashery needed 200/210°C to run smoothly for me.
Note that ultimachine is still doing well at 210 too - it's just overkill.

I suspect this is related to whatever additives they put in the mix (colours etc).

Hey All,

Confirming settings, I'm using 190C on my prints, 200C first layer.

Yes, I'll be stocking Glowbug Yellow shortly.. smiling smiley

I would like to confirm that I am an official Faberdashery reseller to the US as well. I know that in a climate where it is easy to confuse product, it is important to know that proper efforts are made in order to work together.

Hi,
I'm Andrew from Faberdashery. Just wanted to support David's last comment. Handmade Circuits is the place to acquire some exquisite PLA Stateside. We will be listing our official distributors here in future too: [www.faberdashery.co.uk]
Cheers!
