We launched our Kickstarter campaign yesterday. We have designed a stylish 3D printer that is easy to assemble and use. Check out our Kickstarter campaign for more details and specs:

http://kck.st/SgJ70w

Kit: $695
Assembled: $950

All of the plastic pieces are injection molded with threaded inserts. This ensures a sturdy, low-cost design that is super easy to assemble (no nuts to tighten). We hope to make a valuable contribution to the RepRap community. We would appreciate your feedback and support!

Nice design.
Did you get a quote for the molds already? Those things will cost a fortune, I bet 50k is just pocket money if they're done with steel tooling.

Thanks for the comment! Yes, we did get a quote. You are right, $50,000 doesn't cover mold costs but it is the minimum amount we felt we needed to make the project work. We will make up the difference with other funding. Molds are a long term investment that can be amortized over thousands of parts. We have a lot of experience with injection molding and we hope to apply our experience and knowledge to this project. - thanks for taking a look!
