Im thinking of selling my (semi-)completed Mendel.
The reason for selling is, that I need to work on the electronics before, so basically this Mendel wont print/finished for at least a month.
And Im currently working on heated bed (http://blog.arcol.hu/?p=589) right now, so when I could finally print with this machine, until then i will be able to print an another Mendel.
The machine is the same, as I presented at my blog (see Mendel build days articles at [
blog.arcol.hu] ).
What is included:
- every RP parts needed for the Mendel, it is included the extruder RP parts
- every mechanical part (nuts, bolt, threaded rods, bearings, linear shafts, belts, etc, etc)
- plastic sheets for the bed and what goes under (it is cutted by hand, so it is not beauty, but works)
- all motors, 4 in total (3 axis+extruder)
- Extruder machined parts from reifsnyderb
- one roll 24mm width 33meter long Kapton tape
What is NOT included:
- electronics, that includes the limit switches (but the motors are included!)
- extruder worm gear
- heater wire (aka nichrome wire)
- cables
There are few caveats:
1. I sell it as-is, so no warranty if it is really working. (although I mounted it myself)
2. Not tested, I didnt finished the extruder mounting or the electronics
3. Some RP parts are warped and some are printed in really bad quality, but they are working mechanically. Just they are ugly (even some delamination occurs. And two big parts was only printed like 90% (my printer freezed at the end)). But everything is working.
4. The carriage is the worst at warping, but really works great in reality. (although I only tested it by hand;-)
I always intended to sell it, just I wanted to wait, until it prints his first minimug. But I think it will serves better, if I push out the door sooner.
From the buyer there are few requirements:
- blog about the build, and also about the extruder mounting.
- blog extensively about electronics, what he have choosen, and why.
So it is advisable,that a tinkering person buy it, as this machine needs some love. Or anybody who is brave enough to arrange the electronics building.
As for the electronics there are 3 choices currently:
1. official electronics (hard to buy)
2. bits from bytes electronics. It costs 120GBP, but I just checked their website, and they have raised the price to 195GBP.
3. Self-made electronics
I have thought a lot about the price, for what I should offer. The current bitsfrombytes Rapman machine costs 795GBP (~910EUR), which is a Darwin derivative. But their machine is tested, and works.
Originally I wanted to sell the completed mendel for 600EUR (~520GBP), but in its current (untested) phase, I think 500EUR would be the right price for it.
But here is the deal:
I offer it for 500EUR (~440GBP) at start, and I lower the price each week by 20EUR. So if somebody thinks it is worth 500 EUR, then he gets it first.
Shipping:
I can ship within European Union only. So no worldwide shipping. The reason is simple, the duty fee would kill the price. And international shipping is expensive as hell.
This machine weight about 7kg.
The shipping cost is of course additional cost. So it is not included in the 500EUR. Im located in Hungary.
