everybody wants MENDEL PARTS

Count me in. I live in Germany and need at least one set of parts. It would be great.

Given the large number of people that want Mendel parts, and the long time that it takes to print a set, ironically it may make sense for someone to make a traditional short manufacturing run of the parts to get the Mendel's started. I like the idea of a self-replicating machine as much as anyone, but I think that I would rather have the parts sooner and compromise a little bit on the philosophy. And a little small-scale mass production would certainly accelerate the first step in the growth curve - going from 100 RepRaps to 200 would go a lot faster than going from 1 to 100. :-)

hmm, looks like a business oppurtunity for whoever can crank them out the fastest.

Yes and no.

Everyone is trying to get the parts for $100.

Most people are selling the parts for $300-$400

At miniumum wage on extrusion it would be more like $500

You would have to have 2 printers working full time side by side to break even.

Now if you had... 15-20, yea you could make some money.
